Camille Boggs
back to artists
Camille M. Boggs graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BFA emphasis in Papermaking/Bookbinding and Sculpture and an Art History minor from Memphis College of art in 2004. In the spring of 2003, Camille lived and studied predominately in Cortona, Italy. When not in Cortona, she was visiting other cities and towns including Rome, Venice, Florence, and Fabriano. After graduation, she moved to Ocean Springs, MS with her husband and fellow artist, Thaddeus Boggs.
Influenced by her childhood, Camille finds inspiration from her favorite Fairy Tales, dolls, puppets, and pop-up books. She also takes reference from emotion and memory and imbibes her work with the spirit found inherently in the experiences that created them. Many years in the vinyl sign industry and as a graphic designer has helped define her hand cut paper medium. The #11 blade has become an extension of her arm over the years, and as natural for her to use as others use a brush or pencil.
